Eight people fought for the post of mayor in this election; Among them, independent candidate Zayda Khatun, who is the mother of former mayor Jahangir Alam, won by defeating Awami League candidate Azmat Ulla Khan by a margin of more than 16,000 votes.
An analysis of the results showed that over 80% of the votes were cast in the two centres. One of which is the boat and the other the table clock gets the most votes.
Among them, the polling rate in center number 145 is 81.41 percent. In this center of Majlishpur Government Primary School, boat got 996 votes and table clock got 743 votes. Out of 2388 voters of this center, 1941 voted.
On the other hand, 80.77 percent of votes were cast in Myran Ideal School center number 233. Among them, the table clock got 764 votes and the boat got 292 votes. 1134 out of 1404 voters voted in this center.
