The capital and its surrounding areas were hit by load shedding on rainy nights due to a grid outage that supplies power to a part of Dhaka.
Siddhirganj-Maniknagar 230 KV grid suddenly broke down at 7 pm on Sunday, Public Relations Officer of Power Grid Company ABM Badruddoja Sumon said.
Residents of these areas reported that the electricity went out in the areas around Khilgaon, Basabo and Bangabhaban in the eastern part of Dhaka, Savar, Ashulia, Birulia in the western part.
