Among the 14 positions of the current executive committee of the association, seven positions including president and secretary are held by lawyers supported by Awami League. And seven other positions including co-editor and treasurer are held by lawyers supported by BNP.
BNP lawyers did not come to vote after the clashes and riots, even though they did not announce the boycott of the election this time.
The other winning candidates are vice-president Mohammad Ali Azam and Jasmine Sultana, treasurer Masud Alam Chowdhury, co-editor Noor Alam Ujjal and Harunur Rashid.
The seven executive members are Md. Safayet Hossain Sajib, Mohiuddin Rudra, Shafiq Raihan Shaon, Subhash Chandra Das, Nazmul Hossain Swapan, Md. Delwar Hossain and Moniruzzaman Rana.
BNP supported panel president candidate was senior lawyer AM Mahbub Uddin Khokon and secretary candidate was Md. Ruhul Quddus Kajal.
