An explosion in a building in Old Dhaka’s Siddique Bazar has left one with burns. The death toll in this explosion has increased to 20.
The person died under treatment at Sheikh Hasina National Institute of Burn and Plastic Surgery around 11 pm on Wednesday.
The resident surgeon of the institute SM Ayub Hossain said that the person’s name is Mohammad Mucha (45).
He was admitted to the High Dependency Unit (MHDU) at Muchar Hospital. His identity is not known.
A total of 17 bodies were recovered after the explosion in the building known as Cafe Queen in Siddique Bazar on Tuesday. Two bodies were recovered from the rubble on the second day of the operation on Wednesday. Now the death toll is 10 with the death of one injured.
Many people were injured in this explosion. Among them, all 10 people who were admitted to the burn institute, including Mocha, are in critical condition, the doctors said.
After Mucha’s death, there are now nine people admitted there. Md. among them. Hasan (32) and Yasin (26) are in the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) while Azam (36) is in the High Dependency Unit.
