The victim Saurabh Bepari (28) is the son of Kabir Bepari of Pingalakathi village of Gournadi. In addition, he is a driver of a branch of Sonali Bank.
SP Wahidul Islam said that Sourav is undergoing treatment at Dhaka Medical College Hospital in a critical condition.

He told bdnews24.com that miscreants hacked Sourav and injured him in Kalna village of Gournadi upazila on the evening of January 25. He was rescued and first transferred to Barisal Sher-i Bangla Medical College Hospital and later to Dhaka Medical College Hospital.
Inspector Helal said that on January 28, Sourav’s father Kabir Bepari filed a case at Gourandi Model Police Station with his daughter-in-law as the main accused.
Other accused are Abu Saeed Siam Fakir, his accomplice Jihad Hasan Rajan Sikder, Raihan Khandkar and 2/3 unknown persons.
