Demand for increased representation of tribal women

Nari Pragati Sangh-BNPS demanded ensuring participation of tribal women at the national and local levels by increasing their ‘representation’.

The organization demanded to involve them more in public representative activities such as hill district councils and regional councils, including increasing the reserved seats in the national parliament.

This demand was raised at the discussion meeting titled ‘Development of women in 25 years of Chittagong Hill Tracts Agreement’ at the organization’s central office in Mohammadpur of the capital on Monday.

According to a press release, the discussion was organized under the project ‘Our Life, Our Health, Our Future’ under the initiative of Bangladesh Progress Women’s Association.
