Moazzem Hossain’s print ‘Shahrnama’


The first solo print exhibition of painter Moazzem Hossain Johnny has started at Safiuddin Shilpalaya in Dhaka. The artist has painted the experience of living in Dhaka, Kolkata and Hangzhou on the canvas of prints.

41 prints of the artist have been placed in the exhibition. Where the life of the working people, from selling bangles standing on the street to the stories of struggling people have emerged. The exhibition was curated by Md. Sajidul Haque.

This four-day exhibition that started on Sunday will continue till December 21. Everyone can see the exhibition every day from 11 am to 8 pm.

The exhibition was inaugurated on Sunday evening by Dhaka University’s pro-vice professor ASM Dr. Maqsood Kamal Professor Syed Abul Barak Alvi, Dean of Fine Arts Faculty of Dhaka University Professor Nisar Hossain, Professor Anisuzzaman were the special guests. Presided over by Professor Rokeya Sultana.

Moazzem Hossain Johnny graduated from Dhaka University’s Faculty of Fine Arts in Printmaking Department. Later, he studied at the Rabindra Bharati University in Kolkata and the Academy of Fine Arts in Hangzhou, China. Moazzem said that the artworks were created through the experience of living in these three cities.
