British pop star Dua Lipa, who herself is of Albanian origin, received citizenship in recognition of her contribution to the welfare of Albania.
According to CNN, Dua Lipa received the award in recognition of her foundation’s money for the welfare of Albania and her various social activities.
Describing her as the ‘daughter of Albanian immigrants’, the country’s president Bajram Begaz said Lipa had made the country proud.
“We are happy to grant Albanian citizenship to the incomparable Dua Lipa. He has made us proud with his career and important social work around the world.”
